Liquid Pressure Gauge And Stainless Steel Gauge

A liquid pressure gauge is an instrument used to measure pressure changes in a liquid system. The body is usually made of high-strength, corrosion-resistant materials, such as stainless steel, to ensure stable operation in harsh environments. The main body is provided with a standard interface or flange, which is convenient for direct connection with the pipeline system to realize the transmission of pressure signals.

Product Overview

A pressure gauge earns its place by staying readable while the machine is working, not only when it is idle. This 60 mm pressure gauge is a stainless steel, liquid-filled unit with a 0-1 MPa span and a bottom-entry threaded connection, so it mounts on the pressure port of an injection molding machine, a die-casting machine, a hydraulic press or a rubber machine without extra fittings. The case is oil-filled, which is what holds the black pointer on a steady number while the pump cycles and the frame shakes.

The white dial carries two scales, MPa on one ring and kg/cm² on the other, with colored markings along the track. A holding pressure, a relief setting or a clamp circuit can be checked at a glance, and a machine that has started to drift is just as easy to spot. Maintenance stores, machinery builders and repair workshops look to a stainless steel pressure gauge supplier for exactly that: a standard pattern that fits a hydraulic port, reads clearly, and needs no wiring or display to tell you what the line is doing.

Key Features

  • Steady needle under vibration — the case is oil-filled, and that is what an oil-filled pressure gauge is for on a machine that cycles hard: pulsation and frame vibration are damped at the movement, so the pointer holds a number instead of shivering.
  • Stainless steel housing — the case takes oily hands, wash-down water and the fine dust that hangs around a die-casting machine, and it keeps the movement behind a clear window where grit cannot settle on the scale.
  • Quick to read — a white face, a black pointer, MPa and kg/cm² scales and colored markings along the track. A pressure can be checked from arm's length without leaning over the machine.
  • Bottom-entry connection — the G1/4 pressure gauge takes its thread out of the bottom of the case, so on a horizontal port the dial faces the operator instead of the frame. That is the usual layout on a hydraulic manifold, and it keeps the body clear of guards and pipework.
  • Easy to keep clean — the window over the dial wipes clear with a shop rag, so an oil film or a spray of coolant does not turn the scale into a grey blur.

Construction & Working Principle

  1. Liquid reaches the G1/4 pressure gauge through the bottom-entry thread and presses on the measuring element, the elastic part inside the case that takes the load.
  2. The element deflects by an amount that follows the pressure in the line, so a rising pressure produces a proportionally larger deflection.
  3. A transmission mechanism, a short linkage and a geared movement, turns that small deflection into a full sweep of the pointer across the dial.
  4. The pointer reads against the printed scale, MPa on one ring and kg/cm² on the other, so the same pressure can be logged in whichever unit your documents use.
  5. The enclosure and connector hold the assembly together and locate it on the machine: the stainless case and window guard the movement, and the threaded fitting carries the pressure connection into the line.
  6. A seal at that connection keeps the medium inside the line rather than weeping past the thread, which is what protects the reading over months of service.
  7. On models fitted with a calibration adjustment, the movement can be trimmed against a known pressure when the gauge is checked on the bench.

Applications

  • Injection molding machines — fitted to the clamp or injection circuit, the gauge gives the setter a pressure to watch through the cycle and a known good reading to check back against when a part starts short-shotting.
  • Die-casting machines — shot and locking circuits are checked at the start of a run and again whenever the casting shows flash or porosity, and the dial is read from the aisle rather than from the control screen.
  • Hydraulic presses — used when spotting a die, setting a relief valve or watching a long stroke for creep, where a 60 mm pressure gauge on the ram line answers the question faster than the panel display.
  • Rubber and vulcanizing machines — pressure has to hold through the cure, and a needle that creeps during the cycle is usually the first sign of a passing valve or a tired pump.
  • Other hydraulic machinery and liquid lines — as a hydraulic machinery pressure monitoring gauge it also covers liquid lines in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, power and water-treatment plants, on pipelines, containers and equipment.

Installation & Commissioning

  1. Check the port before the gauge goes anywhere near it: confirm the thread size and the working pressure range, and make sure the gauge in your hand matches both.
  2. Seal the thread with a sealant or a sealing washer suited to the medium. The seal is what keeps the joint dry; torque alone will not do it, and too much torque will split a fitting.
  3. Turn the gauge by the hex on the connection, never by the case. Hand-tight first, then a wrench on the hex until it is snug.
  4. Set the dial where it can be read from the position the operator actually stands in — a 60 mm pressure gauge is compact enough to sit close to the port — and use the bracket on the back where the pipe run is long enough to carry the weight of the case.
  5. Bring the machine up to working pressure slowly and watch the needle through a full cycle. It should climb smoothly, settle and return; a needle that sticks or creeps supports a partly closed valve or air in the line before it supports the gauge.
  6. Stay inside the limits printed on the case label: overpressure, excessive vibration or pulsation, and temperatures beyond the rated range can all damage the movement. If the medium runs hot, tell us the working temperature before the next order so the configuration can be checked.
  7. Do not use the gauge on oxygen service. The case label states this plainly, and it is not a limit that can be worked around with a different seal.

Ordering & Delivery

Two details decide most orders: the thread on your port and the pressure range you actually work in. Send both, along with the quantity you need, and tell us what runs through the line if the medium is out of the ordinary. We confirm the specification back before anything is built. The standard G1/4 pressure gauge goes out at 0-1 MPa with a bottom entry; anything outside that is made to the actual thread size and pressure range you specify.

As a stainless steel pressure gauge supplier we price and schedule each order against its own specification, so order quantity, lead time and shipping arrangements are confirmed with your sales contact when the order is placed. Gauges are boxed individually, and carton or pallet quantities are agreed at the same time.

Ask for the datasheet and a dimensional drawing with your quotation if the gauge has to pass an incoming inspection or be checked against a drawing before it goes on the machine. Repeat orders can be built to the same thread and range as the first, and if the same project needs thermometers, level sensors or flowmeters, list them together and we will quote them as one supply.

Media Compatibility

  • Mineral hydraulic oil is the standard duty: this oil-filled pressure gauge sits on the pressure port of injection molding machines, die-casting machines, hydraulic presses and rubber machines, where the stainless steel housing and the seal at the connection are chosen for that service. If your oil is fire-resistant or phosphate-ester rather than mineral, send the fluid name before ordering so the seal can be checked.
  • Water, coolant and water-glycol circuits can be measured where the wetted parts suit the mix. Give us the concentration and the usual working temperature, and we will confirm whether the standard seal is the right one for the line.
  • Petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, power and water-treatment lines are covered as liquid service, but "chemical" covers a wide range of fluids. Send the medium name, concentration and temperature rather than the plant type alone, and we will say whether this pattern is suitable.
  • A dirty or abrasive liquid can block the passage or hold the measuring element off its seat. Fit a filter ahead of the gauge or move the take-off to a cleaner point on the line; if the fluid carries fibres or heavy sludge, tell us before the order.
  • Oxygen service is prohibited. The case label states this, and it is a safety limit rather than a preference: an oil-filled gauge contains oil, and oil plus oxygen is a fire and explosion risk. A different seal or a flushed case does not remove that risk; use a gauge specified for oxygen service.
  • Steam and gas are not suitable. This instrument measures liquid pressure, so a steam or gas line needs a different gauge; tell us the pressure and temperature and we will point you to the right one.
  • Temperature and pressure limits apply to the medium, not only to the ambient air. Keep the line inside the rated pressure range, and state the working temperature before ordering if the fluid runs hot, because the fill and the seal have to tolerate it.
  • To confirm a medium, send the fluid name, concentration, working pressure, working temperature, ambient conditions and the thread on the port. That is enough for us to check the wetted parts and the seal against your line before the gauge is built.

Technical Support & Model Matching

Buying instrumentation for a vessel or a plant usually comes down to matching the part to the job. Our team at Jiangmen Jiexi Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. has been a stainless steel pressure gauge supplier to buyers worldwide since 2013, and we start before the order: confirming the range, thread, connection and mounting you need, checking a model or part number against the equipment on site, and saying plainly where a standard unit stops and custom work begins. After delivery we stay reachable for installation, commissioning and fault-finding, with quality control that includes two extra testing steps beyond industry standard.

FAQ

What do the two scales on the dial read?

The outer ring reads MPa and the inner ring reads kg/cm²; both mark the same pressure, so you can log the gauge in whichever unit your maintenance sheet uses. One MPa is close to 10 kg/cm², which makes the conversion easy to do in your head. The colored markings along the track are there to help you see at a glance whether the needle is sitting where it normally sits.

What does accuracy class 2.5 mean for the way I use the gauge?

Class 2.5 means the indication stays within 2.5% of the dial's full span, so the tolerance is fixed by the range rather than by the pressure being read at that moment. It is the normal grade for a machine-mounted monitoring gauge: good enough to see a relief valve lifting early or a circuit losing pressure over a shift, but not a substitute for a test gauge when you are calibrating something. For verification work, keep this gauge on the line and compare it against a certified standard.

Is this stainless steel liquid pressure gauge suitable for water as well as hydraulic oil?

It measures liquid pressure, so it sits on oil, water and general process lines as long as the medium suits the case and the connection. Two limits matter more than the fluid itself: the label on the case states that the gauge must not be used on oxygen service, and the pressure has to stay inside the rated range. If the line carries a fluid that attacks stainless steel or brass, tell us the medium before ordering and we will say whether this pattern is the right one.

Why does the pointer flutter when the machine is running?

An oil-filled pressure gauge uses that fill to absorb normal pump ripple, so a wide, fast swing usually means something else: air in the circuit, a pump pulse larger than the fill can absorb, or a take-off point sitting right at the pump outlet. Move the connection further along the line, bleed the circuit, and if the swing continues, fit a snubber or dampener ahead of the gauge. A hydraulic machinery pressure monitoring gauge should hold a readable number through the whole cycle, not only when the machine is idle.

Can the gauge be used on a steam or gas line?

It is built for liquid pressure, so a steam or gas line needs a different instrument. Tell us the medium, the working pressure and the working temperature and we will point you to a gauge suited to it rather than leave you to adapt this one. The same applies to any line where the temperature runs above the rated range of the gauge.
